How ChaiComet stays invisible
The overlay
ChaiComet runs as a native desktop overlay, not a browser extension. It sits above your interview window without joining the call or appearing in the participant list.
The screen-share exclusion
ChaiComet uses OS-level window exclusion. When you share your screen on Zoom, Meet, or Teams, the operating system omits ChaiComet's window from the capture stream. The interviewer sees your code editor, your slides, your face—not your assistant.
The process layer
Unlike tools that run a visible background process (Parakeet AI uses a process called pmodule), ChaiComet's process is masked. It does not appear as an unfamiliar name in Activity Monitor or Task Manager.
The assessment layer
On browser-based platforms like HackerRank and Codility, ChaiComet does not trigger focus events, clipboard monitoring, or tab-switch detection. It reads the screen; it does not interact with the assessment environment.
What it does not do
ChaiComet does not make you bulletproof against every proctoring method. Device-level monitoring, webcam behavioral analysis, and content-similarity detection on submitted code are outside any overlay's control. ChaiComet minimizes the software-level exposure that gets candidates flagged. It does not replace your ability to explain your answer.
