This is how ChaiComet handles your account, your screens, and your meeting audio. The credit rules, including refunds, are in the Terms of Service.

What this covers

ChaiComet is a desktop overlay for Mac and Windows. It reads a coding problem, a multiple-choice or short-answer question, existing code, or a live meeting, and returns an answer with the reasoning. This policy describes what that service handles, and what it does not.

The credit rules, including the 7-day refund, are in the Terms of Service. How the account and the requests are protected is in the Security notes.

Who we are

ChaiComet is offered by ChaiComet. Privacy questions and requests to close an account go to contact@chaicomet.com.

Your account

When you create an account with email, we store the email address. The password is handled by Supabase Auth. ChaiComet's database does not store the password.

We also store your plan, payment status, credit balance, and the Razorpay reference that ties a charge to the account.

The desktop app

The Mac or Windows app signs in with a device token. The token is created once and given to the app. We store a hash of that token, a short label for the device, whether the token has been revoked, and the last time it was used. We do not store the token itself, and we do not store a reusable password on the computer.

Screenshots and questions

When you ask, the overlay sends the screenshot and the question to ChaiComet's server. The server sends them to OpenAI so an answer can be produced, then returns that answer to the overlay.

ChaiComet does not save the screenshot, the question, or the answer on your account, and it does not show them to other users.

We record that credits were spent or returned, the amount, and the reason, such as an answer, a failed answer, an adjustment, or a credit top-up. That record is not a copy of the screenshot.

Meetings and transcription

If you turn listening on, a passage of microphone audio is sent to OpenAI so it can be transcribed. Transcription is included and does not spend credits. Asking about what was just said uses credits the same way any other question does.

The transcript stays in the overlay on your computer until you clear it. ChaiComet does not save the audio or the transcript on your account. It is not shared with other users.

Payments

Credit top-ups are charged by Razorpay. ChaiComet receives the fact of a successful charge, the payment reference, and the email used at checkout, so it can add the credits. Card numbers are handled by Razorpay. ChaiComet does not store them.

Who else processes it

Supabase stores the account and keeps you signed in. Razorpay processes the payment. OpenAI receives the question and any screenshot, and, if you turn listening on, the audio, so it can produce the answer or the transcript.

Those providers receive what that step requires. OpenAI handles the content it receives under its own terms. ChaiComet does not sell account data, screenshots, audio, or transcripts.

Cookies

The site uses a session cookie so you stay signed in. When you pay, Razorpay's checkout may set its own cookies.

If you accept, the site may also set analytics and advertising cookies, including from Google, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, and Mixpanel, to measure how the site is used and how ads perform. When analytics is on, Mixpanel may record the visit. Text you type stays masked. Rejecting leaves those tags off. You can change this later from Cookie settings in the footer.

Visitors in the UK, the EEA, Canada, and anywhere the country is unknown are treated as opted out until they accept. In the United States, analytics may run unless you reject them. Your privacy choices in the footer opts out of ad measurement. A browser Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out of ads.

The overlay on your computer

The overlay runs on your Mac or Windows computer. A capture is a picture of the screen you chose to send.

The app needs permission to capture the screen. On a Mac, that permission is Screen Recording. The microphone is used only when you turn listening on.

Closing the panel does not remove the app. It remains a process on the computer.

How long it stays

Account records, credit history, and device-token records stay while the account exists, and as long as we need them to show the balance, apply a charge, or handle a refund request.

If you ask us to close the account, from the email on the account to contact@chaicomet.com, we delete the account, the credit history, and the device tokens tied to it.

Screenshots, questions, answers, and meeting audio are not kept as a library on your account. They are sent to OpenAI to produce the result. OpenAI may keep API inputs for a limited time under its own policies. ChaiComet does not keep a copy.

What you can do

You can stop listening, clear the transcript and the answer, close the panel, and sign out. A charge already made is not refunded by itself. The refund rule is in the terms.

To close the account, write to contact@chaicomet.com from the email address on the account.

ChaiComet is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly create an account for a child.

Referrals, creators, and quotes

If you open a link with a referral code, we store that code so a bonus can be applied once. The referral rules are in the terms.

A creator application stores the name, email, channel, country, and the note you write. We use it to review the application.

A quote you submit is stored with your account. It is not shown on the site unless you consented and we approved it.

Analytics and advertising cookies are described above. You can reject them, or change the choice later from Cookie settings and Your privacy choices in the footer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. The current page is the one that applies.
