Terms of Service

26 October 2026

These terms cover the service, the credits, and the refund. How your screens and account are handled is in the Privacy policy.

Who this is

ChaiComet is a desktop overlay from ChaiComet for Mac and Windows. These terms are the agreement for using it. They are between you and ChaiComet.

Questions, refund requests, and account requests go to contact@chaicomet.com.

The service

ChaiComet reads a coding problem, a multiple-choice or short-answer question, existing code, or a live meeting, and returns an answer with the reasoning. You pay for credits you use. There is no monthly fee.

An answer is generated from what you capture or from what was just said. It is assistance. It can be wrong. It is not a promise that a solution will be accepted, that an interview will go a certain way, or that a meeting will have a particular outcome. You decide whether to use what it shows.

ChaiComet is not a lawyer, a doctor, or a financial adviser. An answer is not professional advice.

Your account

You need an account to use credits. You create one with an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping that sign-in private.

Downloading ChaiComet includes 20 credits on the account you sign in with. You are responsible for the computer you install ChaiComet on and for the sign-in you connect to it. Credits stay on that account.

The desktop app signs in with a device token tied to your account. Do not share the account so other people can spend your credits.

Credits

ChaiComet is usage based. Downloading includes 20 credits. A top-up is $20 for 100 credits. There is no monthly fee. Credits last one year from the day they are added, then they expire. Unused credits are not paid out as cash.

A question uses 1, 2, or 3 credits, and never more than 3. A short question or a multiple-choice question is usually 1. A normal question is usually 2. A coding problem or other long answer is 3. Transcription is included and does not spend credits. The balance cannot go below zero.

When a $20 charge succeeds, 100 credits are added to the balance. That charge does not renew by itself.

If a request fails before you receive an answer, the credits for that request are returned. That return is not a refund of the $20.

Languages

When the screen shows a language, ChaiComet follows it. The languages it writes are Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, C#, Go, and Rust. If no language is visible, it uses Python.

A language outside that list is not something ChaiComet undertakes to write. That limit is one of the reasons covered by the refund below.

Payments

A top-up is charged by Razorpay at $20 for 100 credits. ChaiComet does not store your card number. Razorpay handles the card.

The credits are added to the account that was signed in when the charge succeeded.

A different amount, or credits for a team, is arranged by writing to contact@chaicomet.com. It is not a separate plan until ChaiComet confirms it in writing.

Refunds

A refund of the $20 is available for 7 days after the charge, and only when both of the following are true.

You have not used ChaiComet on that account. Use means you asked for an answer, spent credits, or used transcription. If any of those happened, the charge is not refunded under this section. Credits returned because a request failed do not count as a refund of the $20, and they do not reset the fact that you used the product.

There is a justifiable reason the product cannot do what you bought it for. The example this covers is a programming language you need that ChaiComet does not write. A reason of that kind is a gap in the product. Changing your mind, disagreeing with an answer you already received, or finishing the work you captured are not this case.

Both parts are required. An unused account with no such reason is not refunded. A justifiable reason after you have already used ChaiComet is not refunded.

Ask within the 7 days, from the email address on the account, by writing to contact@chaicomet.com. Include the date of the charge and the reason. If the request meets both parts, the $20 for that charge is refunded.

How you may use it

Use ChaiComet for practice, preparation, and work you are allowed to assist. You are responsible for following the rules of any interview, exam, class, employer, or meeting you join. ChaiComet does not decide those rules, and it does not make a use allowed when the room you are in forbids it.

Send only what you are allowed to capture. You may not resell the account, share it so other people spend your credits, interfere with the service, or use ChaiComet to break the law.

You are responsible for what you send and for what you do with an answer.

The overlay

The overlay runs on your Mac or Windows computer. You choose when to capture the screen and when to turn listening on.

Closing the panel does not remove the app. It remains a process on the computer.

Privacy and security

How screenshots, audio, and account data are handled is in the Privacy policy. How sign-in, device tokens, and payments are protected is in the Security notes. Those pages and these terms are read together.

Closing an account

Write to contact@chaicomet.com from the email address on the account and ask to close it. ChaiComet deletes the account, the credit balance, the credit history, and the device tokens tied to it.

Closing an account does not refund a charge that fails the refund rule above. Credits that have not expired are not paid out as cash.

Referrals

A personal link can give a new account 10 bonus credits on top of the free trial, once. When that account buys its first $20 pack, the referrer receives 20 credits. Credits are added after the purchase is verified. Self-referrals are not credited. ChaiComet may withhold credits for abuse. Referral credits last 1 year.

Creators

Creator payouts are agreed after an application is approved. A paid post has to disclose the partnership and follow the content rules on the creators page. ChaiComet may refuse or end a partnership that does not.

Changes

ChaiComet may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. Continuing to use ChaiComet after that date means the current terms apply to that use. A charge already made keeps the refund rule that was in effect on the day of the charge.
