ChaiComet on HackerRank, CoderPad & CodeSignal: What You Need to Know

Technical Assessments Are Different
A Zoom interview and a HackerRank assessment are not the same battlefield.
Video calls capture your screen. Assessment platforms capture your browser, your focus events, your clipboard, and sometimes your entire process list.
ChaiComet is built for the first. The second requires understanding.
What ChaiComet Does Well on Assessment Platforms
Browser-based assessments (HackerRank, CoderPad in browser): If the assessment runs in a browser tab and you share that tab or your screen, ChaiComet's OS-level exclusion applies. The proctoring layer sees the tab—not your overlay.
Focus and tab-switching detection: ChaiComet does not steal focus. You don't need to alt-tab to it. It sits on top of your display without triggering blur events on the test tab.
Clipboard monitoring: ChaiComet does not paste into the editor. You read suggestions and type them yourself. No clipboard events fire.
Where Risk Increases
Desktop app mode (HackerRank Desktop, secure browsers): Some assessment platforms ship native applications that enumerate running processes. These can see application names. ChaiComet's process masking helps, but no tool can guarantee invisibility against every enumeration method.
Content similarity detection: Platforms like CodeSignal compare your submitted code against known AI outputs. If you copy an answer verbatim, you may be flagged—regardless of how invisible your assistant was. ChaiComet helps you understand the approach; the typing and the explanation need to be yours.
Webcam proctoring: A camera sees your eyes. If you stare at a second monitor or an overlay for every answer, a human reviewer will notice. No software fixes this.
The Honest Advice
ChaiComet gives you a meaningful advantage on browser-based assessments with standard screen sharing. It does not make you bulletproof against every detection method in existence.
Use it as a recall aid. Understand what it suggests. Type the answer in your own words. That's how you stay safe and credible.
Ready to Test ChaiComet on Your Setup?
Every assessment environment is slightly different. The only way to know is to run a test session.
